With tax season almost approaching it's deadline, I figured it was a perfect time to blog about stylish ways to keep your home office or desk space organized, functional and most of all inspire creativity or at least inspire organization.

I have put together schemes that may complement your design style with some cool desk accessories to inspire you to revamp your work space and perk you up with this depressing economy.

Here is the inspiration board I have just completed for a Playroom project.
The theme is a feminine, modern, playful room that is a cool and inspiring space for kids along with being hip enough for adults to chill.

Because this playroom will be in a basement i want it to feel bright and airy, for that reason I am using a bright and fun color palette consisting of whites, yellow, pink & orange. I will also use an oversized wall decal of a tree to create a fun and modern fairy tale setting as well as add lots of visual interest in a room that has very small windows with hardly any light coming through.

The white lacquer daybed I am using can be used as a sofa in the day and bed for sleep overs at night. The lucite cocktail table is light weight so it can be easily move out of the way and is a durable surface perfect for a kids room.

The craft center will be a great way to keep the room organized and showcasing fun works of art.

In addition to the colorful color palette, I am introducing graphic patterns, fushia dots on roman blinds and rug, which will set a modern tone as well as ikat inspired prints on the pillows that will appeal to adults and make the room feel hip and cool.

Design My Room 03/11/2009

I've had a little down time this weekend which lead to an obsession with a cool site I found, Designmyroom.com.

It's a wonderful site that helps you create rooms with furniture options from vendors like Horchow, DWR, Target, Home Decorators and several others.

Here are some designs I created. Let me know what you think-

I went to my local target today, which was intended to be a quick in and out, but actually turned into an exciting trip.

I can never resist visiting the home department when I'm there, so, I figured, I'll just take a quick glance at what's new... and came accross these wonderful pillows and bedding, aren't they wonderful?

These are the "bed in a bag" ensembles I found, all are $99 and include a comforter, two shams and bedskirt, what a deal huh.

A few weeks ago I posted before pictures of a kitchen remodel I was working on. Here is the after picture of the complete kitchen. The barstools have yet to be delivered, but I couldn't wait to post the photos.
