Design Process:
Step 1: Initial Consultation- We meet at the space to be designed to review the specific requirements for the space and any existing furnishings that need to be incoporated into the new design. I will suggest decorating Ideas to enhance the space which may include, color palates, seating arrangements, décor style, storage solutions, etc. We will also review any challenges the space may have along with offering solutions.
Step 2: Design Exercise- The client will be provided with a Questionnaire and Decorating Magazine exercise to complete. The questionnaire asks questions related to the personal preferences and requirements of the client. In the magazine exercise, the client will flag pictures of rooms, furniture and accessories that appeal to them. This will give me an overall idea of what your decorating style is as well as your overall likes and dislikes.
Step 3: Design exercise review- We will meet to review and discuss your experience in compelting the exercise, as well as what you liked and disliked in the pictures you flagged in the magazines. We will also review your answers to the questionaire and narrow down what your decorating style is. Then I will make suggestions on how we create the home of your dreams to suit your lifestyle and budget.
Step 4: Design Plan- Based on your design preferences as determined by step 3, I will put together a personalized design plan for the space that will include all elements of the room i.e., Floor plan, furniture and fabric selections, window treatment design, lighting options, floor coverings, wall colors and accessories. The design plan also includes a budget sheet so you know exactly how the budget will be spent and stores where items can be viewed.
Step 5: Design Implementation- Once the elements of the design plan are approved by you, we will move to the purchasing phase. You may purchase all the items on your own with the information provided on the budget sheet. Or if you would like us to do all the work for you, we charge a fee of 20% of the total budget. For this fee, we will order all items, coordinate and oversee all deliveries, as well as style and arrange all furnishings.
The entire process from the initial consultation to the design implementation generally takes 12 - 16 weeks.
